We’re delighted to announce that Dr Andrew Murray will be headlining the speaker lineup at our pop-up event on 26 Sept.

Andrew will give a talk on “Running the Namib- and other stories“.

In early 2015, Andrew Murray and Donnie Campbell broke new ground- being the first to run across the mighty Namib Desert, home to the highest sand dunes and some of the hottest temperatures in the world. Andrew will share stories from this, and his run with Donnie up the 10 highest mountains in Scotland in a day, and a forthcoming trip to Outer Mongolia in the hoof prints of Genghis Khan.

In addition to these efforts, Andrew famously ran 4300 km from John O’Groats to
the Sahara, and has won 15 marathons/ ultras in places as varied as the North Pole, the Indonesian jungle and Loch Katrine!

He is the lead doctor at the Scottish Running Clinic, at the University of Edinburgh having worked at the Olympic, Paralympic and Commonwealth Games, the Ryder Cup and Tour de France amongst other sporting events. He will be happy to sign copies of his new book “Running Your Best- Some Science and Medicine” at the festival, whilst his other book is “Running Beyond Limits“. Andrew is a Merrell Brand Ambassador.
