This week we have been hitting the trails all over Mugdock Country Park and Craigallian Woods to finalise the race routes for this year’s Solstice Trail Series.
With a large amount of tree felling taking place in the first few months of 2019 we knew we would have to change the routes from last year and this has provided us with a great opportunity to make this year’s race routes even better than last year.
After spending many hours treading the trails this week we now have three race routes that are varied and punchy. Each one shares some sections as a ‘skeleton’ and with the varying distances and new trails on each one, these race routes will provide a stiff test whether you are in your early days of running trails or are seeking one of the prized Solstice Series trophies.
The tree felling has opened up some fantastic views northwards towards Dumgoyne and beyond – don’t forget to look up! We have also made changes to the start/finish line which now includes the ‘Grand Avenue’ to lead you out and guide you back. This makes for the perfect spot to get your crew to cheer you on for your sprint finish!
We will publish the route maps and gpx files in the coming weeks and we will be setting up race route recce runs which we will add to our Run Programme and publish on our social media.
Entries for the 2019 Solstice Trail Series are selling quickly. Last year we had long waiting lists on all three of the races, so secure your entry soon before they fill up. Enter at: Solstice Trail Series
