When did you start running?
I have been running my whole life but the first race I remember was a 1.5mile road race when I was about 12. I did my first half marathon at 17 and the London Marathon at 20.
Why do you run?
I run because I enjoy it. It’s an escape from the real world and I get thinking space. I love the outdoors and this gives me a chance to see some amazing scenery. I always run on holiday (at the request of the family) as I find all the great places we can go adventuring to later. I’m also quite competitive and enjoy the races…the muddier the better!
Where’s your favourite place to run?
When I go back home I love to run along the beach and up through Culzean Country Park.
Your favourite race?
I did the Highland Fling in 2018 which was amazing but challenging. I also really enjoyed the TrailFest Solstice Series at Mugdock as I got to race on the trails I train on.
Your best run moment?
Completing the Fling – I actually ran 53miles! The children loved watching their mummy complete it and be an inspiration to them.
Worst run moment?
An undetected stress fracture in my foot which eventually broke. I had a bone graft, a pin and 3 operations over 3 years and it kept re-breaking. I never thought I’d run again.
