Group Trailruns | Autumn Season 2018

Autumn is the perfect trailrunning season. Immerse yourself in the changing of the seasons and enjoy running when the weather isn’t too hot or too cold. Autumn provides a great platform to establish a running pattern or routine heading into the winter, making it easier to keep the legs moving during the long, dark winter months. So, look out your long tights, gloves and head torch and join us for some autumnal trails!

We are still compiling the full autumn run programme and will announce when we have the full lineup of dates.

Our trailruns
  • NIGHTRun Northside/Southside– evening group trailruns exploring new and well-known trails with headtorches on both sides of the Clyde.
  • NIGHTRun SPECIAL – longer, higher, tougher night runs.
  • RunSOCIAL – monthly trailruns at Mugdock Country Park in fun, relaxed groups finishing up with an obligatory visit to Chunky Monkey’s cafe.
  • RUNOnTOUR – taking groups to different places each month to run new trails and hills.
  • RunLONGER/RunHIGHER – going further, higher and into the wilds in small groups.
  • RunMORNING – start the day with a fast trail run.
Our group categories
  • Beginner – group runs at an easy pace with plenty stops. All abilities welcome and perfect if you’re new to running or new to trails.
  • Improver – group runs at a steadier pace. Less stopping than the Beginner runs, but still stops to re-group, chat and take some photos. Perfect if you’ve been running roads and want to move to trails or are looking to increase your distance and speed.
  • Seasoned – group runs for trailrunners who have been running trails for at least 12months. These runs will either be quicker and/or will take in more remote and hilly terrain. Not for trail newbies (keep going, our run programme will help you build confidence, experience and fitness to join a Seasoned trail run soon).

If you’re unsure of your own level, start with a 5km run and take it from there.

Trail Training

  • RunFIT with Hunterfit UK. Every Monday and Tuesday night in Bearsden, Hunterfit UK takes strength and conditioning classes for runners in the HunterFit studio. These are very popular, so if you’re interested, contact HunterFit UK to check availability.

 


The Mugdock Mile

The Mugdock Mile is a marked trail race route within Mugdock Country Park with a cheeky, uphill finish. We will advertise the next Mugdock Mile Race here and on our social channels.
